WBJEE 2017:

WBJEE (West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination) 2017 is conducted by WBJEEB (West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board) for admission to Undergraduates courses such as engineering, architecture and Pharmacy. Universities, Government colleges and self-finance institutes in West Bengal accepting the WB JEE for various undergraduate courses.

The WBJEE 2017 application form will be released on January 5, 2017 and closed on February 4, 2017. The WBJEE 2017 exam will be held on April 23, 2017 and result will be published on June 5, 2017. There are 104 colleges participating in WBJEE 2017 and total 36,000 seats available to filled the application form. 

WBJEE is state level offline mode entrance examination and exam pattern is objective nature. The exam will be taken two sessions (Morning and afternoon) and each session duration is 2 hours. The Paper I (Mathematics) exam will be conducted at 11 AM to 1PM and Paper II (Physics and Chemistry) exam will be held at 2 PM to 4 PM in same day.

  • WBJEE Admit Card Available: February 12, 2017
  • WBJEE 2017 Exam Date: April 23, 2017 (11 AM to 1 PM and 2 PM to 4 PM)
  • WBJEE 2017 Result Declaration: June 5, 2017

WBJEE Eligibility Criteria:

Citizenship Criteria:

The candidates must be an Indian citizen. Non-Indian citizens are not allowed for appearing in West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE).

Age Criteria:

  • The candidates must be minimum 17 years as on December 31, 2017, for those seeking admissions to engineering or technology course. The upper age limit is not declared for the course.
  • The candidates who wish to admissions to Pharmacy courses; they must be at least 17 years as on December 31, 2017.
  • The candidates for admissions to Architecture courses, their minimum age 17 years as on 31.12.2017. But the upper age limit is not defined.
  • The candidates seeking admissions to marine Engineering courses; the minimum age 17 years and maximum age 25 years.

 

Domicile Criteria:

  • There is no domicile certificate required for general category candidates seeking admissions to State-Aided Universities offering Engineering/Technology/Architecture courses. However, the reserved category candidates must be west Bengal residents (Domicile certificate required).
  • The both category candidates seeking admissions to Government Engineering & Technology colleges required Domicile certificate.
  • The General category candidates seeking admissions to self-financing Institutions offering Engineering/Technology/Pharmacy/Architecture courses is required Domicile. The domicile certificate must be required for reserved category candidates.

Note: There is no required domicile certificate for both candidates seeking admissions to Jadavpur University offering Engineering/Technology/ Pharmacy/ Architecture Course.

Qualification Required for WBJEE:

Engineering and Technology courses:

  • The candidates have passed +2 from recognized board or equivalent and must have completed the minimum cut off in PCM (Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics).
  • The general category candidates must have secured 45% marks combined in PCM (Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics) subjects in Class XII and 40% marks for reserved candidates.
  • The both category candidates must have secured 30% marks in English subjects in Class XII.

Note:

In Jadavpur University and Calcutta University (other than Dept. of Jute & Fiber Technology): 

  • The candidates must have passed XII from recognized board and must have completed the minimum cut off (60% marks for general category and 55% marks for reserved category) in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects each.
  • The general category candidates must have secured minimum 60% marks in Physics, chemistry and Mathematics subjects in Class XII examination and minimum 55% marks required for reserved category candidates.
  • The both category candidates must have obtained 30% marks in English subjects in XII examination.

 Qualification for Marine Engineering:

  • The candidates must have passed +2 from recognized board and cleared minimum cut off in PCM (Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics) subjects separately.
  • The both category candidates must have obtained at least 60% aggregated marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in Class XII.
  • The both category candidates must have secured minimum 50% marks in English in Class X or Class XII.

 Qualification for Architecture Course:

  • The candidates must have passed XII from recognized board and obtained minimum 50% marks (Mathematics is the compulsory subject.
  • The candidates must have cleared JEE Advanced 2017 or NATA 2017.

Note:  In the case of Jadavpur University, the qualifications required for architecture course as follows:

  • The candidates must have passed XII examination from recognized board and the obtained marks must equal to the minimum cut off in PCM individually.
  • The general category candidates must have secured at least 60% marks combined in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects in XII examination.
  • The reserved category candidates must have secured minimum 45% marks combined in PCM in XII examination.
  • Both category candidates must have obtained minimum 30% marks in English in XII examination.
  • The candidates must have completed JEE Advanced 2017 or NATA 2017 examination.

 Qualification required for Pharmacy Course:

  • The candidates must have XII from recognized board and must have obtained marks equal to the minimum cut off in PCM (physics, chemistry, and Mathematics) subjects individually.
  • The minimum 45% marks combine in PCM subjects in XII examination for general category candidates and minimum 40% marks in PCM subjects in XII examination for reserved category candidates.
  • Minimum 30% marks in English subjects in XII examination required for all candidates.

Note: In the case of Jadavpur University, the general category candidates must have obtained minimum 60% marks combined with PCM subjects and minimum 45% marks combined in PCM subjects in XII examination for reserved category.

How to apply for WBJEE 2017:

The application process of WBJEE 2017 started in January and will be ended on February 4, 2017. The candidates can fill application form by taking following actions:

  • candidates have to visit the official website of WBJEE.
  • Enter the password and set a security question.
  • Candidates have to fill their personal and academic details.
  • Candidates must be uploaded documents i.e. category certificate, signature, and photograph.
  • The candidates have to make payment of application fee Rs. 500 via credit/debit card or Allahabad bank challan.
  • Finally, the confirmation page will be generated and print out few copies for future uses.

WBJEE Exam Pattern:

The WBJEE exam will be conducted offline mode in English medium only. There are two exam sessions such as morning and afternoon. In morning (2 hours and 100 marks), Mathematics exam will be conducted and Physics & Chemistry will be held in the afternoon session (2 hours and 100 marks). The total mark of WBJEE is 200 in 4 hours’ duration.

The WBJEE 2017 exam will be held on April 23, 2017. The candidates must be confirmed that the WBJEE 2017 exam pattern such as marking scheme, important topics, exam duration, exam session, nature of questions and place of the exam.

WBJEE Admit Card:

The WBJEE candidates can download admit card by visiting the official website of WBJEE. The WBJEE 2017 admit card will be available from April 12, 2017, to till exam date. The candidates must be carried a printed copy of admit card in the examination hall. Candidates can take following steps to download admit card.

  • Visit the official website site wbjee.in
  • Go through “Download Admit Card”
  • Enter the application number, date of birth and security pin.
  • Finally, Download and print out few copies of WBJEE 2017 Admit card.

WBJEE 2017 Result:

WBJEE 2017 result will be declared on June 2017 through the official website. The candidates can check their exam result by visiting the official website of WBJEE 2017. Following few steps help to download the WBJEE 2017 result.

  • Visit the official website of WBJEE 2017: wbjee.in
  • Click on “WBJEE Result”
  • Enter the roll no., date of birth and security captcha image code.
  • The result will be displayed and download the result.
  • Finally, print some copies of result for future uses.

WBJEE Counselling:

The WBJEE 2017 Counselling process will be started in the 4th week of June 2014. The WBJEE 2017 qualifying candidates can apply for counselling process and the online registration process is available. The candidates have to make payment for counselling fee and fill their choice and institute preference. WBJEE 2017 Counselling will be allocated 80% seats through marks scored in WBJEE 2017, 10% seats for JEE Main 2017, and remaining 10% seats for Management quota.
