NEET 2017: Application Form, Dates, Pattern

NEET UG (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Undergraduate) is annually conducted by CBSE for admissions to Undergraduate (UG) medical courses such as MBBS and BDS. The NEET 2017 national level entrance test will be conducted on May 7, 2017, for about 52000 seats for MBBS and BDS. The NEET qualifying candidates are eligible for admissions to all private, government, deemed medical and dental colleges or universities in India. The NEET UG 2017 online registration process will be started from the third week of January 2017. The NEET UG score will be valid for one year only.

NEET UG 2017 Eligibility:

The following eligibility criteria must be satisfying by the NEET 2017 candidates:

Ag Limit:

  • The minimum age of candidates must be 17 years on or before December 31 of the year of admission.
  • In the case of admission under 15% All India Quota Seats (AIQS), the upper age limit is 25 Years on or before December 31 of the year of admission. The upper limit age of OBC/SC/ST Category candidate is 30 years on or before December 31 of the year of admission.
  • The upper age limit is 25 years prescribed for general category and 30 years for reserved category candidates.

Qualifications:

  • The General Category candidates must have completed 10+2 or HSC from recognized board with secured 50% individual marks in PCB (Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology).
  • The OBC/ST/SC category candidates must have completed 10+2 or HSC from recognized board with secured 40% aggregate marks in PCB.
  • The English is a compulsory subject in 10+2 or HSC level examination and prescribed by NCERT (National Council for English Research and Training).
  • The candidates who have completed the B.Sc. from Indian university along with minimum two of Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany and zoology)/ Biotechnology is also eligible for NEET UG.

Nationality:

  • The candidates must be an Indian citizen or OCI (Overseas Citizen of India).
  • The foreign/PIO/NRI candidates are also eligible for NEET. They are also eligible to participate in 15% AIQ counselling with applicable terms and conditions.

How to register NEET UG?

The candidate must read information brochure before applying for NEET UG. The information browser will be available on the official website of CBSE. The NEET online registration process will be started on the third week of January 2017. The candidates can visit the CBSE website - cbse.nic.in and fill-up the registration form. The following steps also help to register NEET UG application.

  • Visit the official site of NEET- cbse.nic.in
  • Enter the login detail and generate registration number.
  • fill-up form and upload necessary documents such as photograph, signature, thumb impression and self-declaration form.
  • Make payment of application fee Rs. 1400 for General Category and Rs. 750 for Reserved category candidates. The candidates make payment of application fee via online mode (Credit card/debit card/Net banking/Paytm) and offline mode (Bank Challan).

NEET UG 2017 Admit Card:

The NEET UG 2017 admit card will be released in the first week of April 2017. The candidates can download admit card by entering the login detail on the official website of NEET exam. The candidates can take following steps help to download the NEET UG admit card.

  • Visit the official website of NEET exams - cbse.nic.in
  • Go through NEET 2017 Admit Card.
  • Enter the login detail such as registration number and date of birth.
  • The result will be displayed.
  • Download, Save, and Printout some copies of Admit card.

NEET UG 2017 Exam Pattern:

NEET UG is a national level annual entrance test for admissions to UG medical Courses such as MBBS and BDS. The NEET UG 2017 exam will be conducted on May 7, 2017, through the official website. The NEET-UG entrance test duration is 3 hours. There will be asked 180 objective types of questions from PCB (Physics, Chemistry, and Biology [Botany & zoology]). The questions will be asked in English, Hindi and regional languages such as Tamil, Assamese, Marathi, Gujrat, Telugu, and Kannada.

The distribution of 180 MCQs (Multiple Choice Questions) into 45 MCQs for each subject such as Physics (45), Chemistry (45) and Biology -Botany & zoology (45). Each correct answer will be awarded 4 marks and for every incorrect answer, 1 mark will be deducted. The candidates must have to hold admit card, clipboard, blue or black ball point pens and post card size photograph.

NEET UG 2017 Result:

The NEET UG 2017 result will be declared on 1st week of June 2017. The candidates can download the result from the official website of NEET. The minimum qualifying marks for General category is 50% (equal to 360) marks, 40% (equal to 288) marks for SC/ST/OBC and 45% (equal to 324) marks for General-PH category candidates.
The NEET qualify candidates are eligible to attend for counselling and get admissions to government and private medical colleges, dental colleges, Institutes, and universities or AFMC.
