GATE 2017:

GATE 2017 is a national level entrance exam conducted for admissions to engineering courses (M.E., M.Tech) at IITs, NITs, GFITs, universities and private institutes. GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test for Engineering) 2017 application form was released on September 1, 2016, and closed on October 10, 2016. GATE 2017 is going to conduct on 4th, 5th, 11th and 12th February 2017 according to courses choice. GATE 2017 is conducting by Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee.

Eligibility Criteria for GATE 2017:

The GATE 2017 candidates must be confirmed by eligibility criteria before applying. The following criteria should meet for GATE 2017.

  • The candidates completed or studying in final year of B.E./B. Tech./ B. Pharm. (4 can apply. The completed degree must be 4-year.
  • The B.Arch. (5-year) completed or studying in final year candidates are eligible for GATE 2017.
  • The candidates completed 4-year B.Sc.(Research) or B.S. can apply. The candidates who are appearing final year exam can also apply.
  • The candidates completed or studying in final year of M.Sc./MCA/M.A. having an appropriate branch of Mathematics/Science/Computer Applications/ Statistics or equivalent can apply for GATE 2017.
  • The candidates completed or studying in final year of Integrated M.Sc. or Integrated B.S.-M (5-year) Program can apply for GATE 2017.
  • The candidates completed professional society examination equivalent to B.E./B. Tech./B.Arch. programs recognized by MHRD/UPSC/AICTE can apply for GATE 2017.

GATE 2017 Application Form (Online):

The GATE 2017 online application form was released from September 1 to October 10, 2016. The candidates wish to apply for GATE 2017 have to visit the official website of GATE and fill the necessary requirements. The following steps help to apply for GATE 2017 exam application form.

  • The candidates have to visit the official website of GATE.
  • Enter the personal information, valid email address and active phone number.
  • After completion of GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS), the enrollment and password will the delivered to applicants' email address.
  • The candidates have to log on to their account by using the enrollment ID and Password.
  • Now the candidates have to choose the maximum three examination centers and paper name preferences and fill all the necessary detail such as personal information (name, Date of Birth, Parent name), mailing address, ID Proof.
  • After the filling information, the candidates have to upload scanned copies of photograph and signature.
  • The candidates make payment application fee via online mode or eChallan and click on "Submit and Proceed to Payment". The GATE 2017 application fee Rs. 750 for General or Male candidates and Rs. 500 for Women or reserved category candidates.

  • Last Date for apply for GATE 2017: October 10, 2016
  • Date for Admit Card Available: From January 5, 2017
  • GATE 2017 Online Examination Date: February 4, 5, 11 & 12, 2017
  • GATE 2017 Result declaration Date: March 27, 2017

GATE 2017 Exam Pattern:

The GATE 2017 exam will be conducted on February 4, 5, 11 & 12, 2017 via online mode. The exam duration is 3 hours and there is total 65 question includes for total 100 marks.

  • The GATE includes two types of questions such as MCQ (Multiple Choice Questions) and NQ (Numerical Questions).
  • The questions related to general aptitude will be 15 marks.
  • There are 85% questions belonging to Main Subjects Paper such as AR, CY, EY, MA, GG, XL, and PH. 15% questions belonging to General aptitude.

There are 70% questions from subject codes such as AE, BT, CS, CE, IN, EC, CH, ME, IN, MT, EE, ME, MN, MT, XE, TF, and PI; 15% General Aptitudes questions and 15% from Engineering Mathematics.

GATE 2017 Admit Card:

The GATE 2017 Admit card will be available from January 5, 2017, through GOAPS Online mode. The candidates can download admit card by visiting the official website of GATE 107. The following few steps help to download GATE 2017 Admit card.

  • The candidates have to visit the official web portal: www.gate.iisc.ernet.in
  • Enter the login details such as enrollment ID and Password.
  • The GATE 2017 result will be displayed.
  • Download the admit card and print out some copies for future uses.

GATE 2017 Exam Date:

The GATE 2017 exam will be conducted from February 4-5 and 11-12, 2017 through online mode. The candidates must be carried Admit card to the exam center. The following date, time, test paper and session scheduled for GATE 2017.

  • ME, AR, and TF test paper will be conducted on February 4, 2017, at 9 AM to 12 PM (Session-1).
  • ME, AG and GG Test paper will be conducted on February 4, 2017, at 2 PM to 5 PM (Session-2).
  • EC, BT, CY, EY, and PI test paper will be conducted on February 5, 2017, at 9 AM to 12 PM (Session-3).
  • EC, AE, MA, MT, PE and PH Test paper will be conducted on February 5, 2017 at 2 PM to 5 PM (Session-4).
  • CS and EE Test paper will be conducted on February 11, 2017, at 9 AM to 12 PM (Session-5).
  • CS and EE Test Paper will be conducted on February 11, 2017, at 2 PM to 5 PM (Session-6).
  • CE, CH, and MN Test Paper will be conducted on February 12, 2017, at 9 AM to 12 PM (Session-7).
  • CE, IN, XE, and XL Test paper will be conducted on February 12, 2017, at 9 AM To 12 PM (Session-8).

GATE 2017 Result:

The GATE 2017 Result will be declared on March 27, 2017, and candidates can download the result from the GOAPS. The candidates have to enter the enrollment no or Email ID and Password to check result. The GATE 2017 qualify candidates can download the GATE Score card which is valid for 3 years. The score card will be available from March 27 to May 6, 2017.

GATE 2017 Counselling:

The GATE 2017 qualify candidates have to participate in counselling process. The GATE 2017 Counselling process conducted by various IITs, NITs, and Other Institutes individually. There is no mutual counselling process for admissions to IITs, NITs and other Institutions.
